Meet Andy Burke

Bio

Andy Burke first picked up guitar at the age of ten and began writing songs soon thereafter. He has a long history of performing that dates back to junior high school in Lumberton, NC. He was one of the founding members of the rowdy and ever-popular bluegrass band Bear Down Easy out of Asheville, NC from 2007-2014. He has continued to perform as a solo artist though his style has evolved and is better described as Appalachian roots music. His first full-length album, Mystery Man, debuted 11/5/2021 to broad acclaim. Andy was able to hire world renowned musicians to play remotely on the album during Covid lockdown, including grammy award-winning fiddle player Michael Cleveland. Andy and his wife and daughter sold their home near Asheville in 2022 and travelled the United States for 9 months in their fifth-wheel camper with their two dogs, where they travelled to 25 states and 21 National Parks. Andy currently lives in Pittsboro, NC, where he also works as a physical therapist. He enjoys hiking, camping, and playing golf.
